Course Objectives
1. Upon completion of the Cosmetology Operator Course, the student will be able to perform all the manipulative skills of shampooing, cold waving, hair coloring, manicuring, facials, hair-styling, hair-cutting and all other related skills with at least a 75% accuracy on a mock final exam given by the school before graduation.
2. Upon completion of the Cosmetology Operator Course, the student will be able to comprehend all the technical information related to the above skills with at least a 75% accuracy on a mock theory final exam given by the school before graduation.
3. At the conclusion of the Cosmetology Operator Course, the student will be prepared to pass a state exam given by the state exam administrator for a license to practice Cosmetology in the State of Texas.
4. At the conclusion of the Cosmetology Operator Course, the successful performance on the State exam, and receipt of a license in Cosmetology, the graduate will be qualified to secure a position as a hairstylist, shampoo specialist, manicurist, facial technician, or hairstyling assistant with the skills he or she obtained. The graduate will also be qualified to enter a course of Cosmetology Instructor training.
The goals of this course are to train the student for entry-level employment, in the beauty salon environment after graduation, and licensure for a position as a hair stylist, manicurist, facialist, make-up/hair stylist in a photography studio, receptionist, Salon Manager, or Salon Owner.
The course description includes but is not necessarily limited to a study of basics relating to cosmetology and or related fields. The course is presented sequentially for both theoretical and practical applications beginning with a basic foundation for developing professional skills to prepare one for job level entry positions.
